The trend of people to ware noble dresses and keep themselves good looking is known as fashion. To maintain themselves and keep their body language up to date is a part of fashion. Fashion is as old as the wish of man to attract others.
History
Charles Frederick Worth (1826-1895) was the first fahion designer. He was not a dress maker. Before the set up of fashion houses in Paris designs and styles of cloths were originated from the royal courts.
Early dress makers were made dresses according to customers choice. While customers didn't know what suits them. For first time Charles build people scene what should they ware and he was succeed in doing so.
At that time many fashion houses started to hire artists. Artist made images of the designer's ideas. These images were then shown to the customers and then dresses were made on their orders. This process was economical rather then making dresses and displaying them on statues. Turbans, clouds of tulle, and simple felt hats were the most popular fashion of nineteenth century.
*Twentieth century*
At the start of twentieth century Paris was the point from where all high fashion was generated though London has also made a little progress in fashion industry.
The fashion magazines from all over the world started to send their editors to Paris fashion shows.Then dress makers started to send their customers to Paris to buy the latest creations of Paris designers.All over the world the designs and creations of designers were openly stolen and copied.
What is fashion?
There were no clear difference and competition between ready made and made to measure. These two mode of productions were still far away from competition those days. A new thing that was happened in that days was the addition of photos to the magazines. This influence the life of peoples. The taste in dresses was now developed in public in big cities through out the world till the mid of twentieth century. Headgear was the most popular fashion in that time.
The abrupt change in dressing was due to necessity instead of fashion. All this was happened due to the first world war. Because during this war women were forced to work for their living. The need of proper clothing for work originated this change of dressing.

Fashion week was also held for the first time in New York in 1943. This was held for a reason to distracte people attention from the French fashion during second world war. Eleanor Lambert was the first person who organized 'Press week' for the encourgement of American designers.She was succed in her goal. In result of her efforts the magazines like Vogue (who normally supported freanch fashion) now start taking interest in American designer's creations and designs.This event was held in Bryant Park in New York.It was remain their for 2010 and now it is relocated in Lincoln Center.

At the start of twenty first century there were some invention that have changed the world in global village.
Fashion industry had its charm at its the peak now a days. People wants to update themselves. Fashion industry is also developed in the developing countries such as Pakistan, India, Sri lanka, Bangla desh and others.
